A get together Feb. 19th, 2007 @ 08:15 pm
Hello all,

I don't know if anyone still uses this community anymore as a way to get everyone's attention but here goes anyway...

There's been talks of a get together this week since it's Reading Week for most us. Toni and I offer option of Wednesday or Thursday at her house. We don't know the time yet. But we do plan to play her PS2, so bring your games.

Dan thinks that only game playing is a tad too boring, so I said we can watch movies too, but we don't have any possible candidates yet.

I will not lj cut to prove the importance, despite the crudeness Sep. 20th, 2006 @ 12:08 am

Because Sarah has been the only person to reply to the previous sculpture post, I've decided it necessary to start a new one!
We need to some ideas going, so I may as well start with some crudely drawn pictures.

Got better ideas for a basic spirit house stand? Please share! I'm thinking it's best if we go with Sarah's suggestion to just do our own sketches, share them in some computer method and meet at the Byng once we decide.

Sculpture folk, here's the plan! Sep. 17th, 2006 @ 05:35 pm
Sarah, Dan, and Toni:

Because I'm feeling awfully lazy and must tend to my English assignment, here's a quick summary of THE SHRINE PLAN!

We need to sketch out the format of the podium/stand/base things. Captain Torrence suggests that we use wood instead of cement, seeing cement is harder to use and clean-up. Oh, and very heavy. I think it would be cool if we stuck with our original plan of a uniform shape to the base, but whatever detailings to match with our shrines.

I'm thinking we sketch, meet together to finalize the design, then find an appropriate day to head to Byng. Torrence is working day ones and twos now, making it much easier for us! He's being real cool about it too, saying whenever we can make it would be fine. And because there's a new principal, more room for crazier possibilities! I'm thinking lights!

How's Sunday for everyone?

To Dan and Grace, sheepishly (as is appropriate):

Hi! Hope you guys had fun! Meeting on Friday and everything! Boy, what a --

Okay, basically, my pants broke, and I had to flee to mom's to get a safety pin, which would have taken maybe half an hour. And then as I was leaving, I bumped into Dad! He came back from Ottawa today, and ... somehow, he happened to be stopping by the office, too. Having not seen him for a week, I got all, "Gee whiz!" and Dad, Mom, and I had a reunion.

And then I was like, "D'aww, shit." Since I said it around my folks, I had to wash my mouth out with soap. Swearing bites.

I'll make it up to you. You'll see. You'll see. Bwa ha ha.

To everyone else:

Hi! ... I have nothing relevant to say to you. Hope you're not dead, eat well, have all your limbs, &c.

To ye folks of last year's sculpture class @ Byng

Tuesday's a bit of a pickle for me, since I have to go in to work by ~2:30. I suppose none of you would be able to handle Monday, Wednesday, or Friday as the do-date? (Fridays are nice. Look how shiny they are. Sarah has no Kidsbooks on Fridays, and will likely never have to tutor on that day.)

I'd like to see the old gaggle of teachers, so it'd be nice if somehow I could somehow leap into the sculpting mix. Figuratively, note, since last I heard we were venturing into the realm of cement ...

So, um! If we could schedule something at school, possibly in the afternoon while school's still on, with Torrance's word backing us, that'd be cool. Otherwise -- and I say this with a sad, guilt-inspiring expression -- say hi to everyone for me.

Fo' thanks,

Will it be THIS Saturday or Sunday?
I prefer Sunday, but I think Sarah had an issue with that. Discuss!

Tuesday, 7:30pm at the Paramount!

Be there or be...a cube.
Now, you wouldn't want that now would you?
The beach/movie excursion on Wednesday, June 14th (ie. TOMORROW) is being changed from 4 pm to NOON.

Because parents are going: FOUR O'CLOCK WILL GO ON TOO LATE.

Also: activity options, should we be rained? Movies have been considered (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Soylent Green, possibly All Dogs Go to Heaven if I dunno), but... other stuff? Board games? Sack races? Trips to the moon?
